Malaysian companies are registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM — Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia). The main identifier is the Business Registration Number (BRN) for older companies or the Company Number (12 digits) for newer ones. Company type: Sdn Bhd (Sendirian Berhad — private limited) or Bhd (public limited). You can check a company at mydata-ssm.com.my (MyDATA SSM). SWIFT: Maybank — MBBEMYKL, CIMB — CIBBMYKL.

CISG and governing law

Malaysia is not a party to the CISG, but it still applies to the contract from the builder: Russia is a party without an Article 95 reservation, so the Convention applies to the sale of goods as part of Russian law (Art. 1(1)(b)) unless the parties exclude it. The contract is governed by the law of the Russian Federation (clause 9.6), and disputes go to the ICAC at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (clause 7.2).
