CISG in force since 2018

Fiji acceded to the CISG in June 2017 and the Convention has been in force there since 1 July 2018, so it applies automatically unless the parties exclude it. Matters not settled by the Convention are governed by the law applicable to the contract (Art. 7(2)) — Russian law for the contract from the builder.

173-FZ: deadlines and registration

The deadlines for receiving proceeds are set in the contract — the bank takes them into account when registering it. Under Presidential Decree No. 430, the mandatory amount of foreign currency proceeds to be credited is tied to the mandatory sale rate — check the rate in force on the date of the deal. For amounts from 3 million RUB (import) or 10 million RUB (export), the contract is registered with the bank and receives a unique number (UNK).
