Uzbek legal entities are registered in the Unified State Register of Business Entities. The main identifier is the TIN (9 digits), issued by the State Tax Committee. Company types: MCHJ (LLC) and AJ (JSC). You can check a company at my.gov.uz. Key banks: Asaka Bank — ASAKUZ22, Ipoteka Bank — IPOTUZ22, National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan — NBFAUZ2X.
Uzbekistan is not a party to the CISG, so the Convention does not automatically apply to Russian-Uzbek contracts for the sale of goods. It is advisable to explicitly state the governing law in the contract — typically the law of the Russian Federation — with disputes to be heard at the ICAC under the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or the Moscow Arbitrazh Court.
Main delivery routes: rail via Kazakhstan — Tashkent — Yekaterinburg/Moscow (10–14 days, the most popular option for large-volume cargo); trucking via Kazakhstan — 5–7 days; air freight Tashkent — Moscow for high-value or time-sensitive cargo. The key transit point is Kazakhstan, so it's important to account for transit documents when drawing up the contract.
