Despite EAEU membership, currency control under 173-FZ applies in full. For contracts from 3 million RUB, the bank registers it and assigns a unique registration number. The contract must include payment terms, delivery deadlines, and both parties' details.

Armenia in the EAEU: trade without customs barriers

Armenia has been a member of the EAEU since 2015. Goods move between Russia and Armenia without customs declaration or import duties. Instead of a customs declaration, a customs statistical form is filed for shipments from 1 million RUB. Armenian company details in the contract

Armenian companies are registered with the State Register Agency of the Republic of Armenia. The main identifier is the HSHN (Հ.Վ.Հ.), an 8-digit tax identification number. Company status can be verified on e-register.am. Company types: ՍՊԸ (LLC) and ԲԲԸ (JSC). SWIFT codes of Armenian banks: ACBA Bank — ARMIAM22, Ameriabank — ARMJAM22, Ardshinbank — ARDSAM22.

VAT on exports and imports within the EAEU

The procedure for paying VAT is governed by the Protocol on the Collection of Indirect Taxes (Annex No. 18 to the EAEU Treaty). On export from Russia to Armenia: the exporter applies a 0% VAT rate and assembles a supporting document package (VAT payment application, transport documents) within 180 days. On import from Armenia: the Russian buyer pays VAT to the tax authority (FTS) independently.

Logistics: routes between Russia and Armenia

There is no direct land border between Russia and Armenia. Main routes: trucking via Georgia (Verkhny Lars checkpoint) — the most popular option, 2–3 days; air freight Moscow – Yerevan (Zvartnots) — for urgent and high-value cargo; the route via Iran — for large-volume shipments.
