Argentina is Russia's largest trading partner in Latin America. Bilateral trade includes Russian fertilizers and petroleum products exchanged for Argentine meat, soy, and fruit.
Include the CUIT (tax identification number) in the contract. Verification is done through AFIP (afip.gob.ar). The CUIT follows the format XX-XXXXXXXX-X and uniquely identifies the legal entity.
International deals with Argentine companies are denominated in USD. The ARS has high inflation and limited convertibility — do not use it as the pricing currency.
Argentina joined the CISG in 1983. For dispute resolution, an ICC (Paris) arbitration clause or ICAC at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is recommended.
